Not for the faint of heart, this highly-ornamental antique circa-1960's Table-lamp of my departed mother's, begs to be the focal-point of your room! She was a silver-screen actress, and gifted-artist, and she prized the gorgeous male-Peacocks for their amazing display, --and i still have several of her Peacock Oil-paintings; --but this outrageously ostentatious sculptural ceramic-piece graced the up-stairs huge Living-rm. of her Pt.Loma/hilltop French-provincial Normandy-style mansion (with commanding view of SanDiego-bay). If it were not for its intricate if delicate floral-detailing, it might almost be absurd, -yet it comes-off as a rather brilliant work-of-art! The filigreed-base has a plunger-switch which illuminates a nite-light which filters softly there through. The fanciful Shade may need careful expert dry-cleaning, --yet in all, it is a magnificent survivor... Sacrifice: $199(no Tax); Appraised-val.: $480.
